Because schools have a lot less control over their schedules - all of these weekends were set by the conference scheduling - I don’t read a ton into who schools play for homecoming. But I was a little surprised at seeing how late in the season some of these games are. Homecoming used to be pretty much right in the middle of your season.

But I was a little surprised at seeing how late in the season some of these games are. Homecoming used to be pretty much right in the middle of your season. All of the schools had games during the middle of the season that they could have selected as homecoming, with the conference scheduling the games, it will probably always be a SoCon team as your homecoming opponent, gone are days you could schedule a cupcake game in the middle of the season for homecoming. However, one team went extremely early, and three went extremely late in their homecoming game, indicating to me, they selected a specific team to play during homecoming.
