Lori Lewis has resigned from her position in advancement as of yesterday. Maybe now we get a person in that position who would consider a campaign for athletic facility fundraising.

whats sad i have no clue who that is Honestly most people don’t give the kind of money she was chasing so many didn’t know who she was but she was the Vice chancellor of advancement. My opinion instead of chasing the donors who will keep you going for a long time with smaller money more often she chose to chase the extreme high dollar 1% donors for what appeared to be one time donations. I know several who explained to her several times she should get back to grass roots efforts and not ignore those people who would give you 250.00, 500.00, 1,000.00 etc.

Given that it was an immediate resignation, one has to wonder.

Given that it was an immediate resignation, one has to wonder. I think forced resignation. Probably Dr. Brown did her evaluation and made a decision accordingly. I am quite impressed with Dr. Brown so far. I know she has been asking for input from alumni and various board members and athletics funding has been brought up by about every single person she has talked to.

I realize that just because she's being made aware of the athletic funding situation, it doesn't mean she'll act on it, but I'm very happy folks are bringing it up to her. So, the ball is in her court. Keep the pressure up Catamount fans!!!!!!

Yes, no guarantee she will act but I know in one board meeting the other day she asked for feedback and every single person in the room told her "find a way to help athletics." She has also committed to be at every football game home and away except the one the she has the foundation board meeting. All in all I hope everyone keeps the pressure on and she acts on these things.

whats sad i have no clue who that is Not a surprise at all that you didn't know who she was, as I would guess at least 90% of WCU alums didn't know her either. Nor did many in the business and corporate world around the region. And therein was the problem. But no worries. We'll get another hotshot PHD from the college of whatever who will come in and know nothing about WCU or its people, and will keep Advancement and university fundraising right on the same track it's been on forever.

Glad to see Lori depart. I offered to buy her development staff a copy of Quick Books Pro so that all donors could receive year end summaries, especially for tax reasons. Maybe I was pushing the envelope when I advised them to see help from those in the Forsyth Building on how to run the program. SOME WOULD NEVER MAKE IT IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR. LMAO
