What happened to Wofford, they lost to SC State. No way that should happen, unless the ankle bitters are way, way worse than advertised.

I flipped over and watched some of the Wofford game. It is really weird - they have a ton of returning players, but the coach for whatever reasons thinks they need to throw the ball and make fundamental shifts in their offensive philosophy. I expect them to shift back and probably be OK, but that is a big loss (for them and for the perception of the SoCon).

Week #2
Western Carolina (0-1, 0-1 SoCon) at NC State (1-0, 0-0 ACC) 12:30 pm - watch on Fox Sports South and the ACC Network Extra. Western travels to Raleigh, NC to meet the Wolfpack for the seventh time, hoping to pick up their first FBS win. The home-standing Wolfpack holds off the Cats by a final score of 35-49
Mars Hill (0-0, 0-0 SoCon) at VMI (0-1, 0-0 SoCon) 1:30 pm EDT - watch on ESPN3 The Lions travel to Lexington, VA to meet the Keydets in Alumni Memorial Field to kick off their season. The Keydets are looking for their first win of the young season, and win in a rout, 42-21.
The Citadel (0-1, 0-0 SoCon) at Elon (0-1, 0-0 CAA) 2:00 pm EDT - watch on FLO Sports The Bulldogs travel to Elon, NC to meet former SoCon member Elon. Both teams are coming off disappointing season-opening losses, and are primed to pick off that first victory. The Phoenix get the nid and the win, 17-27 over the dogs.
Mercer (1-0, 1-0 SoCon) at Presbyterian (0-0, 0-0 BSC) 2:00 pm EDT - watch on ESPN+ The Bears add the twelfth game to their schedule as the Blue Hose add a make-up game for one canceled a week earlier, in this hastily scheduled contest. PC gets their home contest, but it comes at a high cost, in a 14-42 loss to the Bears.
Chattanooga (1-0, 0-0) at Jacksonville State (0-1) 7:00 pm EDT - Watch on ESPN+ The Mocs travel to Jacksonville, AL to meet the Gamecocks in what has become a rivalry game for both schools. Rebounding from a season-opening loss, JSU outmans the Mocs for a final score of 14-24.
Furman (1-0, 0-0) at Georgia State (0-1, 0-0 ) 7:00 pm EDT - Watch on ESPN3 It's FCS vs. FBS, as the upset-minded Paladins travel to Atlanta, GA to meet the team that just last weekend upset the Tennessee Volunteers, the Ga State Panthers. Furman plays well but is unable to overcome the Panthers in the 4th quarter, dropping a close one to GSU, 28-35.
Shorter (0-0, 0-0) at ETSU (0-1, 0-0 ) 7:30 pm EDT - Watch on ESPN+ The Division II Hawks open their season in Johnson City, as the Bucs are coming off a loss to former SoCon member App State. This is the opening home game for ETSU, and with hopes of a playoff appearance, the Bucs romp, with a final score of 49-14 over the Hawks.
Overall, it's not a good weekend for the SoCon, with a 3-4 record.
