I wish the Whee over me shirts all athletes are wearing were sold in the store or online. I think that is one of the better slogans they have come up with lately

We now have āWhee over meā. As someone said, I donāt want anyone wheeing over me. Lol. Too funny.

I think some of our members do not understand the concept of the phrase. "Whee" is shortened version of "CulloWHEE" is being used instead of "We" as in "We over Me"....the team over an individual. I like it. Just wanted to make sure that the phrase isn't being misunderstood. I came up with a bumper sticker in the 70s which was a Valentine type heart in place of "love"...We (heart) The Cats. Some ask me what does "We heart The Cats" mean.

Thinking there would have been about 150 better things we could run with š¤£

The phrase/theme was not a product of WCU Athletics marketing or the Catamount Club. It came from football and Coach Bell's emphasis on the team concept. I don't think you will see any t-shirts with that theme other than the football team.

I totally understand "Whee" vs "we" and I am a big fan of team over self. My high school coach had us wear shirts under our pads with the word "TEAM" in really big letters and the word "me" in lowercase and way smaller for the phrase he wanted to preach of "Big TEAM - little me". But even on here amongst loyal WCU fans I think a lot of people jumped to the same thought and I would imagine the fans of other teams will get a kick out of it and use it in derogatory terms when referencing the slogan and the football program.
Other team's fans really shouldn't matter, but as 07 says it just seems like there would be other ways to convey that message.
