ETSU was also in position to kick 2 FGs. This was shaping up for a huge opportunity for us with Furman in that trap game spot (UTC up next week), but we need to see some MAJOR adjustments for this 2nd half. I mean we literally gave them 14 points and we are down... 14 points.

All is not lost. If we keep playing the way we did the last 8 minutes of the 2nd Q it is an open game. The fact that it is still only a 14 point game with the horrendous special teams fiasco is huge.

I would definitely agree with that. This game could be 45 to 7 based on how the first eight minutes went. I am not confident that we are going to win based on the first half, but if we come out and score some points in the second half, and we play like we did the last part of the second we MAYBE have a chance to make it a game and compete.

I am with gamer2 - we were leading the league in rushing heading into the Furman game. Last week we ran the ball 24 times. In the first half we ran it 12 times and 4 were by Cole - and only 1 was really a run by him. Adams is averaging over 5 YPC, so we have to keep Mercer honest on defense. I am all for being more like the 50/50 kind of team we were before. I get Reid is special, but Adams is more than capable.
This is a huge momentum drive to open the 2nd half. Need to do something on defense.

It's now 16-0 Furman in the 4th quarter. The Paladins finally scored a TD.

Everyone saying we are not the same team without Reid. 100% agree, but that’s where things have to change. You 100%. Cannot keep relying on one player to change the game for us. We have to keep building depth and have the next man up and the third man up, so when they are injured the opponents are going to say it doesn’t matter they’re still going to run it down our throats.
I think we are close, but we are not there yet and when Reid is out we are exposed and become really one dimensional even though Adams is a good running back.

I think those stats are missing one of our turnovers. Pretty sure we had 3 fumbles (2 on special teams and Cole's).
