We aren't going to have a open OC job at least not this year.....Maybe after next year thou.....Anytime a coach gets fired you feel bad but also understand why it happened.....You could tell that Coach Bell was frustrated this year during the Weekly Football shows by his comments about the defense and soft coverage and just plain poor tackles.....I think Coach Bell when he makes up his mind the change will be made..... I also noticed during the last coaches show that Bell seemed determined to improve the defense and was not satisfied with the performance. I hate to see any anybody fired but that is the nature of their business and sometimes it is needed. I hope that Coach Bell follows through with that improvement and it sounds like he is trying to do that.

I don’t know anything but he has done a great job and he has experience.

At our level, we are not going to be able to afford n DC with FCS experience. This is from Coach Cochran bio: “Much of Cochran’s football career has ties in Northeast Ohio. Before his stints at Akron and Kent State, he spent 11 seasons as a coach and four as a player at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, just east of Cleveland. He served in a variety of roles including defensive line coach, defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and director of football operations at his alma mater. The Blue Streaks made three NCAA playoff appearances from 2013-16 including a semifinals appearance in 2016, finishing 13th in the nation in rushing defense and averaged just over three sacks per game.”

It didnt work out well with us but he was a previously successful DC. I trust Kerwin has connections to get a quality DC, the problem is just keeping them for the long term if they are successful.
