Head Coach: Jerry Stackhouse - The 2023-24 season is the fifth for Jerry Stackhouse leading the resurgence of the Vanderbilt men’s basketball program. He was named the program’s 28th head coach on April 5, 2019. Stackhouse has guided the Commodores to back-to-back winning seasons and NIT quarterfinals berths in 2022 and 2023, sent four student-athletes to the NBA and coached two SEC Scholar Athletes of the Year in his first four seasons in Nashville. For the 2022-23 season, he earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year, Tennessee Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year and Ben Jobe National Minority Coach of the Year honors.

Vanderbilt tipped off this season with three teams very familiar to the Cats, opening with a loss to Presbyterian (62-68), followed by wins over USC Upstate (74-67) and UNCG (74-70).
Ezra Manjon leads the Commodores in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, he has scored in double figures in every game he’s played this season and 14-straight contests dating back to last year. In his fifth-year, he has also excelled at the free throw line, hitting 40-of-44 attempts this season. At 90.9 percent, Manjon ranks second in the SEC and has scored in double figures 84 times in his career, a mark that ranks 28th among active players.
Newcomer Ven-Allen Lubin has provided Vanderbilt with a needed presence down low in the five games since his return from injury to open the season. Lubin is averaging 12.2 points and 6.4 rebounds and has scored in double figures in 4-of-5 games so far. Lubin went for a double-double, his first at the collegiate level, in the win over Alabama A&M with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
