Coach Gray was not at all happy with his team's performance tonight. His post-game comments to Gary Ayers were the most ticked off I think I've ever heard him. He talked about the players bitching, moaning and complaining instead of playing ball.

I think he needs to have a hard meeting with the team. Next year will be a total rebuild for WCU. This year is our best chance at a championship but the teams mindset is not right. They need to do something quick as the chances that if we squeeze out a tournament win in Asheville we will be a very low seed like 14-16

I’m to the point now of screw it, win the tournament and go to the tourney. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ You're not going to win the tournament, when you can't beat the good teams at home. Samford - Loss; Furman - Loss; UNCG - Loss; now Chattanooga - Loss all at home, that is piss poor basketball. Basically, WCU has Woolbight, and he ain't going to win them all by himself. Minor point, but Furman was on the road

“It’s basketball, not table tennis” has to be the quote of the year. Page to the bottom of the attached page and look at the video of Coach Grays post game interview. catamountsports.com/#0

Do we have the talent and ability to win these close games? I think the answer is absolutely. But Coach Gray nailed it by saying we've got to guard somebody.
When you lose by 6 points or less to all the top teams in the conference (3 of which were at home and 1 on the road), then you are good enough to not only compete, but to win.
The team needs to be committed to playing defense. Also, we've got to be able to finish shots at the rim. In the last several games, we have missed too many point blank shots (6 feet or closer).
We have strong senior leadership on this team. They need to take charge and prove that they can play at the top level in the conference. Again, I'm confident that this team has that ability.......now they just need to prove it by beating the UTC's, Furman's, UNCG's, and Samford's of the conference (you can probably add Wofford in there as well).

This team has lost 4 of the last 5, I don't see then as trending upward.
