With the pending movement of the Mountaineer Message Board (MMB) off the Delphi platform - see the below thread if you didn't know about that ( httpwcuproboardscom.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=socon&action=display&thread=4114 ), the primary reason for my development of this board will no longer exist. ASU fans overwhelming the Catamount Pride board.
It was just too easy for them to switch over the the Pride Board after looking at the MMB. Many times, there were more Appy fans on the Pride board than WCU fans. I wanted a new, modern board, where Catamount fans could congregate, without the intrusion of ASU fans. I did allow a couple ASU fans to join the board, but they never made problems for the WCU fan base.
While the Catamount Sports Forum has been a labor of love for Catamount Athletics for me, I have been disappointed with the number of regular posters. Realizing the Pride board has been around so long, most fans were not willing to give up the comfortable, and move to a new, very different type message board. I have targeted the students at WCU, and many have become members, but most only posted a couple of time before becoming inactive.
Working on both the Catamount Sports Forum and the Purple & Gold blog consumes a great deal of time, and I'm not sure our efforts are supported by the response, at least on the forum. We do get a large number of visitors, who read, but for what ever reason - do not post.
Now to the point, I'm going to let you help me make a decision. Do you think I should close the Catamount Sports Forum, as we only have enough Catamount fans interested in message boards to support only one message board?
This March, the Catamount Sports Forum will have been in existence for 3 years, a sufficient time I believe to catch on, if Catamount fans would or could support two boards. ASU fans are currently supporting 4 boards and 3 blogs - I guess that's what winning in football will do for a fan base.
For those that have been posting, I sincerely appreciate every post you've made.
