2014 schedule released today - 2 FBS games, 2 non-D-I games - 6 home games, home games in bold
In my opinion, playing back to back Dav. II SAC teams screams weak schedule.

Not wild about playing Brevard and Catawba, but I guess Spear wants to up his win count as much as possible.

I'd prefer only one non-DI game (or none), and to have played Charlotte rather than Catawba, but hopefully those two games will be confidence builders for our young team. Here';s hoping we pick up an outstanding incoming freshman class.

For those of you complaining about two D2 teams, relax. This team needs to be able to put together some kind of season better than one or two wins to improve their own outlook and build some sense that they are improving, both for them and for the fanbase. After taking lumps from three FBS teams last season and bringing home the $$$$, it is time to work on the record. Considering we had to squeak by Mars Hill, I would not scoff at a D2 team right now.

Hopefully, this will be the last schedule with two non-DI teams. Lets just hope those games are big wins for the Catamounts, and big confidence builders for the guys.

I tend to agree with Scott, we have in the 3 seasons had our team get beat down with losses in the beginning of the season and never got the winning feeling. Having coached some teams that were in the rebuilding process early wins set the tone for the rest of the season as well as builds the team's confidence to win those close ones. Let's have a season where we go into conference with a couple of wins and see what happens. And if we are afraid that we are going to lose those games we are without a doubt headed in the wrong direction and we need to see that sooner than later. I think that this season's schedule with 6 home games suits us just fine at this juncture.
