For all those who stayed home, because they thought it would rain....
For all those who stayed home, because we lost last week to Presbyterian.....
For all those who stayed home, because they thought we'd lose to Wofford....
For all those students that did not stay in Cullowhee one more night, before going home for break....
You missed a Great game, it DID NOT rain, and the Cats came out determined to win.
Next time have more faith in your Catamounts, risk the chance of rain, come an watch the Cats play The Citadel in 2 weeks !!!!!!

Our lot was more empty this week than at any other time this season but there was a wedding. We had a blast at the tailgate as well as the game. I'm more concerned with the people in the stands that were at the game but sitting on their hands. This is already a magical season, I've only been here since 2011, and will be the best season in a long time and could possibly be a miracle season and people are just sitting there. They act like we are 2-4 rather than 4-2 and number 1 in the SOCON.

I had an absolute blast! What a fun and exciting day. There was a lot of disappointment around campus after Presby. You can tell that the students in Cullowhee have saw a lot of losing in their time at WCU, and it will take some wins to build confidence that can't be destroyed with one bad loss. I have no doubt though that you will see a packed house for homecoming. Even following our loss in Florida and two wins to DII teams spirits were high on campus, and students and professors alike seemed plain excited after the Furman win shocked most of them.
I picked a great year to become a Catamount. Cheering and playing with the band is so exciting when there is a great conference game going on, not to mention for first place. I can't wait to see where this season goes!

Thank you for the campus update cadco. Its great to hear the professors are expressing support. If the staff and professors get excited and cheer, the students will follow. Have fun, its the best years of your life! and students and professors alike seemed plain excited after the Furman win ...

I have to add
For all those who stayed home "because their stepson or son had a football game hours away from Cullowhee" and could not make it.
I must say thanks to ESPN3 and google chromecast, i got to see my stepson destroy their opponent and come home just in time to cast the game on my big screen and watch a great game.
I wish i could have been there, nothing like seeing it in person but at least i got to see a greatly motivated and coached team, its been tough being a Catamount for years.
Go Cats!!!

The band has the best half-time show in the nation. Conversley, they are one of the worst college bands while in the stands. They rarely play during time outs and never in between plays like most college bands. They would add tremendously to our game atmosphere if they would get involved!

Agree with comment about the band. They do not get involved with the football game. Why have canned music when we have a 500 piece band. We want a college game atmosphere, not a NF L atmosphere!

I'm not taking up for the band here, but I'm sure during some of the time outs they are programmed not to play during certain time out periods. There is advertisements and announcements being played on the video board that they (administration) don't want the band playing over. however.... After the half time show, I don't think the band played a note in the 3d quarter of Saturday's game. I've also noticed that once the band starts moving out for the halftime show, regardless of what happens on the field - nothing is heard from the band until they are on the field for the show. I realize they are spread out all around the field for the show, but if something like a touchdown happens, at least some of them could play the fight song. But you are right, they seem to be playing less and less under the leadership of the new band director than they did when Bob was leading the program. and they completely ignore those of us sitting in the west stands. Maybe a few emails with suggestions of what you/we would like to see in the marching band - to the band director, David Starnes would be helpful.

^^^ yes!, you would think they would play our fight song after a TD.
Email is a great idea, and cc the AD and Head Coach so it won't get lost. If enough emails, the band leader may get the message.
