This was an interesting read about fcs playoff field predictions. It seems to be on a weekly basis. I stumbled upon while researching the selection condition of the field. www.collegesportsmadness.com/fcs-football

With our last 6 year history you're researching playoff selections? Best laugh for this week. I just want a win against Citadel for now. After that its beating UT-Chatt.

It may be a little premature but we have a shot. I have not had a reason to be curious since I attended/graduated from WCU. Exciting stuff.

The two wins against Division 2 teams will hurt our power ratings along with an overall weak Southern Conference. Do not think the Southern Conference will have two teams in the playoffs. WCU will have to win the conference to make the playoffs.

I think its possible that 2 SoCon teams can make the playoffs. If we beat the Citadel that makes 11/1 that much more important, i hope we finish and when the SoCon outright, gosh knows its been a long time, but if we finish 6-1 and either finish as a first place tie or lose 1 conference game, i think we get in as long as the loss is not to VMI. We did play 2 Div 2 teams but we also play 2 FBS teams, one we should have beaten, the other well, its a nice paycheck right???
But i dont think losing to FBS schools hurt the playoff hopes, of course winning one would make a guaranteed spot i think. But again not many will beat Alabama, and I beat Ole Miss could not do it again if they somehow meet again.
My thinking just win one game out a time and enjoy it game by game

I think our only way in is to win the conference, considering the two non-D1 games and the loss to PC.
I do think if we won the conference, and WCU was the Mocs only SoCon loss, they probably would get an invite. I think the committee would want two SoCon teams and would look for a good justification to have an at large from the SoCon, and that would be perfect.

Keep in mind there are 24 bids this year 11 being automatic. Therefore essentially the top 25 will make it. However, if we finish the season just outside the top 25 we will still have a chance to get in. I think they will try to spread the wealth so to speak and as of right now we are in good shape to finish in the top 2 for the conference. A lot of this depends on the rest of the season and we will have to finish strong. A lot of it is hinged on the next two games. If we win those two we are in the driver's seat.

Another reason i think that we could make the playoffs provided we do not win and we are 2nd or at least tied for 1st is because we have become that underdog team everyone wants to see succeed (well in general) so to speak, we stil have our critiques and those who still cant believe what they are seeing but overall. If we finish no worse than 8-4, i think we get at least on a sympathy vote, JMO.

My thinking is if we beat the Citadel and UT-C, we likely win the SoCon a the worst as a share, but we have 4 games in SoCon left, lets try to win them all. If we beat Citadel and UTC, i am confident we will be ranked as well
