If both teams win this weekend - this will be huge. Probably as good a draw as a hillbilly game for the conference crown.

I obviously agree on Citadel losing this weekend, but I actually want UTC to win. I think the ONLY way 2 SoCon teams get in are for us to win the conference out-right and Chatty to finish with big wins in all their other games. If we go 8-4 (6-1 in conf) then I don't think we get in because of the 2 DII wins. But since UTC has been ranked much of the season, if they have that same record (and because they were basically the last team left out last year), I would bet they might get in. But lots of football to go, including the dreaded triple option this weekend and a tough contest at Samford following the UTC game.
Regardless, it sure is a whole lot more fun talking about the latter half of our season than it has been in a VERY long time!

I love the fact we are talking about winning and not how bad we lost, or talking about moral victories or firing a coach or any of that other non sense......The train is just getting started and folks are getting excited about WCU football again!

Regardless, it sure is a whole lot more fun talking about the latter half of our season than it has been in a VERY long time! I agree 100% with you! We are hoping WCU beats The Citadel this weekend and you guys get into the FCS Top 25. Quality wins make a big difference and probably the reason we were left out of the field last year. That being said, it is honestly very good for the SOCON that the Catamounts are doing so well this year. With the loss of Georgia Southern and App State, the conference needs more quality teams in order for the FCS power that be selection committee to recognize our conference as worthy of multiple entries into the playoffs. Although as a UTC fan and employee (film), I will be pulling for the Mocs next weekend at EJ Whitmire, I do think that WCU is worthy of a playoff spot this season. The two Non D1 victories will hurt no doubt but the overall body of work this year has been very good. I can tell you this about The Citadel...those boys were down 31 at the half but never stopped playing in that second half. No lead is safe and long, clock eating drives are key to keep those boys from coming back.
