I was hoping some folks here can answer a question for me about seating at the football stadium since I have been unable to get back for a game in quite a while. I will be able to make it up for the VMI game and in looking at the seating chart for tickets, wondered if folks would recommend either section LL or MM over the other. It looked like the lower section below them had lots of seats available but appeared low enough that the view might be blocked by the team and LL or MM would have better viewing being higher up. The east side had lots of seats available but I know about the sun in your face from that side.

The VMI game is Nov. 15th - the sun shining on you in the East Stands could feel real good on that date, it can be pretty chilly in Cullowhee in November.
However, the team will be on the West side, along with the band and the Catamount Club seating. The new west side seating is built high enough that the team standing in front of the lower seats will not interfere with your viewing of the game if you take the lower seating.
I like sitting toward the middle of the field, so I'd go with LL over MM (sitting toward the middle is just a personal preference), however the upper seats do give you a better view of the field, than the lower seats. Not as good as some of the higher seats on the east side, but a very good view. I'd look for seats in KK, they are middle field seats, while designated as Catamount Club seating, they are not sold out, so if you're like me and like the middle, that's what I'd do. My second preference would be LL or JJ. If you like being close to the players, the lower seats are great. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. After looking it over a bit I decided the east side will work fine and it could indeed feel better in the sunshine that time of year. Made my ticket reservations for section EE and they look like a good vantage point to see the game. Looking forward to getting back up to Cullowhee for a weekend. My first year at WCU we were still in the old stadium but the other 3 years I spent a lot of Saturdays on the east side at Whitmire squinting into the sun LOL

Hopefully it won't be quite so long before the football game. Lots of changes in the stadium, I think you'll like it. Still, there's lots of upgrades that would help. Enjoy the game, and enjoy Cullowhee.

I like the east side as well, sun and all. You can get higher and see better, and it feels like home.

I did make it up to Cullowhee back during the summer and drove around campus but it was just a quick day trip so wasn't able to really look around. What I did see is how the place has really changed drastically from my days up there. I think I will get there really early on game day and just take some time to walk around campus. I expect the east side will feel more like home to me as well. By the way, how early do the gates open for admission?

I can arrive early to find parking and leave myself time to walk around a bit before heading into the stadium.
