Projected Finish for Schools as follows:
1 Mercer 2 Samford 3 Western Carolina 4 Wofford 5 UNC Greensboro 6 East Tennessee State 7 The Citadel 8 Furman 9 VMI

The Cats were picked by both the coaches poll and the media poll to finish the season in 4th place this year. Catcher Danny Bermudez, and outfielder Matt Smith were both selected as first team preseason all conference.

It was great going into a season believing we were in the mix and to be feared.

It was great going into a season believing we were in the mix and to be feared. I'm not sure anyone in the SoCon fears our Cats in any sport, unless it's track & field. In the big three (football, basketball and baseball) we're hopefully on the rise in football (although the loss of three coaches to JMU worries me), but in basketball and baseball, we've been on the downward spiral, certainly not fielding teams that are feared.
