The Catamount bats were asleep again today. Cats lose 2-1.

vs Mercer, at Furman and vs UNCG they better be careful in these last 3 weeks or 14-10 could be possibility Our bats have gone silent. Despite scoring 11 runs yesterday, we ain't hittin'. No HR's in the last 9 games. Our pitching seems to have stabilized, however, the number of pitchers used seems to be getting fewer and fewer. We only used 5 pitchers all weekend. We will probably be in trouble if a couple of them have bad outings and we have to go deeper into the staff. Johnny Wholestaff = a sure loss. I will join 32 as a pessimist. I fear that Mercer is going to come to Cullowhee next weekend and treat us rudely. We will probably come out of next weekend in 3rd place in the SoCon; maybe 4th.

I'll take my place as the optimist and say we will bounce back at Fortress Cullowhee. We take 2 or 3 next weekend.

It's hard to be an optimist when a bottom feeder Big South team come to Cullowhee and wins convincingly, and then the Cats travel to the 8th place team in the SoCon and lose the series.

I'll take my place as the optimist and say we will bounce back at Fortress Cullowhee. We take 2 or 3 next weekend. We are currently 11-4 in the SoCon and in 2nd place. I'm looking for us to lose 2 of 3 to Mercer this weekend, also lose 2 of 3 to Furman in Greenville (Furman is tough at home) and then lose 2 of 3 to a Greensboro team that is playing well. If so, there is the 14-10 SoCon record that 32 mentioned. 14-10 will get us a #4 or $5 seed in the tournament at Fluor Field (where we, BTW, have never played well). We've put up crooked numbers in the first inning 15 games this year. But none of them in Charleston. WE AIN'T HITTIN' ! Hope I'm wrong... I hope tons of you will be able to say, "Na-na-na-na-na, you were wrong!

My money is on a final record of 16-8, third place in SoCon behind Mercer and UNCG. We have the bats and pitching has improved. We beat Va Tech and took 2 of 3 from a solid Samford team. Man - our fans go to the negative so easily....
