Good start to the Mercer series today, although we gave up 3 HR's. We finally hit a couple ourselves and outscored them 9-7.
Hope Brendan Nail is OK after getting hit in the foot/ankle area by the batted ball and had to come out of the game.
Moving Caleb Robinson up to #2 in the batting order was a good move today.
Pitching was so-so. Got some big K's in some critical situation with RISP. But we issued way too many free passes. 10 BB's and 4 HBP's. That is unsatisfactory, IMO and we were lucky that two of their HR's were only solo jobs.
Hope Bryan Sammons is hitting on all cylinders tomorrow.

Coach Mo announced today that Tristan Baker (has been Sunday starter all year) is out for the rest of the year with a stress fracture of his elbow. Bad news. Tristan has done pretty well for a Freshman weekend starter this year.
So we've got to pull someone out of the bullpen and put them into the Sunday starter role. Making a shaky bullpen thinner.
The end of this season is not shaping up real good, IMO...
Hate to be the pessimist, but I can't pretend that all is well when I know for sure that it is NOT.
We win one of three vs. Furman in Greenville. We get one of three at home vs. Greensboro (getting swept is a real possibility) We lose the two remaining mid-week games vs. Georgia and Cincinnati We get swept at Kent State to the MAC conference leader that looks like Omaha material this year.
We go into the SoCon tournament with a 24-30 overall record and 14-10 conference record (in a 4-5-6 seeding jumble).
Maybe win one games in the tournament. Maybe... (We have never played well in Greenville)
