after Saturday's loss to Furman, Western Carolna dropped out of the "others receiving votes" from the coaches poll. This was to be expected. A Western Carolina win would probably pulled the Cat up into the top 25.....
WCU dropped to #39 in the AGS poll.
The SoCon only has one team in the top 25 now... Wofford.

It is shaping up to be one of those years where everyone beats up on everyone else. I don't think the SoCon is going to get much love, as our out of conference performances have not been so good. I wouldn't be surprised is we only get 1-2 teams in the post-season this year.
Priority #1 for the Cats is to learn from the Furman game, and go beat Samford!!

Frustrating. Face it everyone, if our defense was as good as our offense we would be going after a national championship.
It is hard to watch our defense be the exact opposite of our offense.
If we had made a stop v Furman. We could have marched down the field and won. But even man on man, knowing what is coming and bringing everyone in the box we could not stop them.

Defense did not fumble twice in red zone. Defense needs work for sure but enough blame to go around.

Defense did not fumble twice in red zone. Defense needs work for sure but enough blame to go around. Like Coach said after the game - these things are fixable. Will we suddenly have the best defense in the league? No - but again - Speir says "little things make the difference." About 5 "little things" any one of which could have had a 7 point difference last Saturday and we'd all be proud. Well - most of us anyway.
