Should we have a contest to guess the number of points our defense will allow for each game?

Chattanooga is actually not a great offense, so the point total will be very telling this week. As I said in another post, they really only try to throw it to one guy (Nunnelly), and nearly all of the carries are by two guys (Price and Tiano on QB keepers). If they make us look really bad with what they have shown on offense so far, we will know it is a combination of not being very good/being young and not being in the right place or able to stop a very predictable offense. And that will bode especially bad for games against the triple option we have coming where schemes and assignments and discipline mean everything.

Mercer at Yale - I don't think the bears can win at Yale Wofford at Furman - The short-haired dogs remain the team to beat ETSU at The Citadel - I'm still not sold on ETSU, El Cid wins at home VMI at Samford - the Keydets make a game of it, but the dogs are on a roll Chattanooga at Western Carolina - Cats win a close one in Cullowhee

Yale Wofford ETSU Samford Since people are finding it hilarious to keep shaming those who are picking against Western and worshipping Speir, I’ll continue the honest train. Chattanooga 52 - Western 28 You my friend are a true fan. No one can accuse you or being a bandwagon or fair weather fan. You stick with the Cats to the bitter end. Oh wait, you are picking Chattanooga because we had 2 bad games. :-)

Should we have a contest to guess the number of points our defense will allow for each game? I am predicting that we will shut Chattanooga out this week. Remember where you heard it first. Go CATS!!!

I (much like the rest of y’all I’m assuming) am an alumni and I want to see wins and I want to see success. HOWEVER - I decided to instead face the reality and not expect the Cats pull a rabbit out of a hat and create a miracle out of what they’re working with. So yes, I picked against them because I think they’re going to lose. But thanks for trying to read into my why. :-)

Yale 31 Mercer 16 (Just a guess, know little of either) Wofford 41 Furman 20 (Furman will not come close to 40 against anyone but our Cats) Citadel 24 ETSU 21 (Bucs lose their horseshoe this week) Samford 52 VMI 23 (Hodges again lights it up against inferior defense) Chattanooga 38 WCU 34 (Finally hold someone under 40 in SoCon game but still come up short)

The dogs continue their winning ways between these two upstate rivals, 35-21.ETSU (5-1, 3-0 SoCon) at The Citadel (1-3, 1-2 SoCon) 2:00 pm ESPN3The Bucs make the long trip down to the SC lowcountry, and it will be an extra long ride back home, as the Bulldogs defend their home turf with a 28-14 win. VMI (0-5, 0-4 SoCon) at Samford(2-4, 1-2 SoCon) 3:00 pm ESPN+The Keydets roll into Birmingham, primed for a victory. The Bulldogs, however, have something else in mind after their beatdown of the Catamounts last week. Dog win, 38-31. Chattanooga (4-2, 2-2 SoCon) at Western Carolina (3-2, 1-2 SoCon) 3:30 pm ESPN+The Mocs travel across the mountains to Cullowhee hoping to avenge last season's loss in Chattanooga at the hands of the Cats. Both teams coming into the game. Both teams come into the game riding a two-game losing streak, and both teams need a win to try and right the ship. After the beatdown of like week, the Cats have something to prove to themselves, and the Cats pull out the upset, 31-28.
