Coach Leggett, Coach LeClair, Coach Hennon, Coach Raleigh, using our lack of facilities, less scholarships did pretty good at Western, and left WCU to lead teams like Clemson, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, and the University of Tennessee.
Coach Moranda does not seem to be in demand by larger programs, so, as my father used to say, "son, if you just do enough to get by you won't."Coach, your doing just enough to get by is not working.
Randy, please make the decision, and replace Coach Moranda now, and don't wait until the end of the season. You could use the assistant Coach that is from Illinois as the interim head coach until the end of the season, and #1, see if he improves the team, and #2, if he doesn't, this would be time for you to look for your new coach.
Randy, it is time to ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wcu baseball was something I used to talk very proudly about. scrappy guys from the whee could play with anyone in the country. now I really try to avoid those conversations...
athletic dept has to make a commitment to winning. you cant just coast year after year and expect to get better. you have to allocate money to facilities, coaches, and fan experience improvement. it starts at the top.
unfortunately these are the facts - facilities are terrible game day experience is non-existent media presence (social) is awful school does not push student attendance
its not even worth the drive to watch them play. just an inflated high-school game experience
look at the other schools we used to compete with/beat on a regular basis... Coastal Carolina, App State, Georgia Southern.
something has to change
I agree, it does. But our school's athletics were SO bad, they had to start somewhere (I was embarrassed while I was a student). But you have to eat a cow one bite at a time. Look at what's happened with football. Fan experience is the best is the conference (and if you say otherwise, you are simply proving how clueless you really are), hence leading conference in attendance while team is 3-8. It can't happen over night! Supposedly scholarships were increased for the first time, in may be forever, this year, and that was for ALL teams. I agree Mo sucks, but is he really on a level playing field? I can't answer that question, don't honestly know. But if like most WCU teams, he probably had to play Power 5 opponents to make a few bucks simply to cover basics. I have spoken to many, if not all, of the Head Coaches. To a person, they say significant increases in their budgets are happening. My question then becomes, how long does the administration wait to make changes? Again, I don't know. It certainly cannot be immediate, but how soon?

RECRUITING ONLY WAY TO CHANGE IT GOT TO DO BETTER The current state of this program would be a tough sell for any recruits. There's actually a lot more talent on this roster than the stats/record show. Coaching has to maximize and develop talent and that certainly is not happening.

if we had 11 wins last year, 20 wins this year, and 30 wins next year... would that change your thoughts? based on age, I think 30 wins is going to happen next year. ( I do agree we have to recruit better pitching but we have a lot of talent at the plate and in the field)

In as many years as I have spent playing, coaching, and watching baseball; I don't believe I have ever seen a division 1 staff with numbers like this. I have to think this has to be towards the bottom in the country no?

Fast balls are mediocre at best & most of the pitchers can not control their breaking stuff. Coach Mo is wasting a lot of the available scholarship money on this staff. The hitting is much better this year but the defense has made some crucial errors that have cost the team in low scoring games. It also seems to me that the pitch selection by the coach does not always match the capabilities of the pitchers. As you stated, pitching stats sure explains how bad our staff has been this season.

in 378 innings
this pitching staff has:
WALKED 236 GUYS HIT 53 BATTERS THROWN 96 WILD PITCHES BALKED 9 TIMES
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THIS IS DIVISION 1 BASEBALL!
literally anywhere else in the country, there would be riots in the streets to end this crap!
then I open my mailbox and see:
"Please donate to Catamount Club"
they can KMA until they get this garbage figured out.
I was apart of a few teams with numbers out there in left field. What we built is a joke now. Embarrassed doesn't even begin to describe it...
Hey Randy, Get your butt out of the free booster beer and do your job!

Scary when people in power aren't afraid of losing their position.
The current state of Catamount athletics is why I send my donation dollars to a school I never attended. At least the on the field product is competitive and entertaining. oh well...
