I’m beside myself. The short summary is WE DESERVED TO LOSE.
While it’s easy to point the finger at a few players and a few plays, the bottom line is THE TEAM took its foot off the gas pedal the last 3 innings of the game. That’s what losers do, and we confirmed that. They thought they had it and coasted. I witnessed players not being ready, BS arguments with the umpire, poor decisions on the field and in the dugout, the list goes on.
What a shame given the performance of our starter.

It seems at times we are playing not to lose, rather than playing to win.

catamountfanatic07 - you just perfectly summarized the mentality of WCU baseball.
That mindset trickles down from the top. Even with the insanely talented teams of a few years ago, that nervousness radiates from the dugout & becomes toxic.
Bottom line - leadership with a kill or be killed mentality is a necessity, not an option.

Simple as step on plate and not try and tag him and we win. Looked like didn’t know situation cause he was kinda straddling the plate? Maybe wrong

Maybe wrong It's been a while since I saw a team that gives their opponents so many opportunities to excel as Catamount baseball team does this team. This seems to be a team that does it's best to defeat success.

Sleepwalking against Furman; now 5-0. The sad reality is that making up five runs is a snap for our opponents, but LEAD us by five, and you’re good to go. This pathetic $#%t show can’t end fast enough. Another laughing stock program in our stable. It has to be getting crowded in there.
