Mon, Dec 16 - The week is off to a good start for the SoCon.
Mercer at UNCW The Bear's Djordje Dimitrijevic led all scoring with 23 points as Mercer held on to pull off a 72-63 win in Wilmington, NC over UNCW. The Win broke a 4 game losing streak for Mercer and upped UNCW's losing streak to 4.

Wed, Dec 18 Not too bad, 2-2 on the night.
Western Carolina at Xavier Xavier's Quentin Goodin scored a career-high 25 points as Jason Carter added 16, helping Xavier hold off Western Carolina 74-61 at Cintas Center. The Catamounts built a seven-point lead within the first five minutes of the second half, prompting Musketeers coach Travis Steele to call two timeouts within 23 seconds. The Musketeers responded with a 13-2 run over six minutes to regain the lead. A three-pointer by Carter put Xavier up 67-57 with 3:40 left.
ETSU at LSU The Bucs' Patrick Good scored 19 points to lead ETSU to a 74-63 victory against LSU. Good, who had scored only 16 points in the Buccaneers' previous five games, made five 3-pointers. Bo Hodges had 13 points and Jeromy Rodriguez scored 12 for ETSU. The Buccaneers outrebounded the Tigers 40-29 and scored 40 points in the paint.
UNCG at Vermont UNCG's win over Vermont was just the Catamount's ninth home loss since the 2014-15 season, dropping the hosting Catamounts by a final of 54-53. With both teams sporting top-20 defenses, Wednesday night's matchup was billed as a grudge match. The Spartans held Vermont to a 40.9 field goal percentage, while keeping a Catamount squad averaging over seven three-pointers per game to just three field goals made from beyond the arc .
Alabama at Samford Alabama's John Petty made ten 3-pointers, scoring a career-high 39 points in Alabama's 105-87 victory over Samford on Wednesday night at Legacy Arena. Petty missed only two of his 12 3-point attempts and the Crimson Tide raced to a 25-point lead late in the first half.

Thursday, Dec 19, 2019 - The SoCon was 1-1 today
Wofford at Duke Duke's Joey Baker had career-high of 22 points with five 3-pointers to led fourth-ranked Duke over Wofford 86-57 Thursday night. The 6-foot-7 sophomore hit all of his 3s after halftime while the hot-shooting Blue Devils stretched their lead. Freshman Vernon Carey Jr. added 20 points and 10 rebounds for Duke which shot 54% in its return from a nearly two-week pause in the schedule.
The Citadel at Longwood It took 3 overtimes, but the Bulldogs hit the century mark in their 102-99 win over the Longwood Lancers. Karlon Harris had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs, Shabooty Phillips led Longwood with 24 points in the loss. The Citadel led by 70-59 with six minutes left in regulation, but the Lancers used a 14-2 run for a 73-72 lead. Tied at 75-75, neither team could score in the final minute, leading to the first of three overtimes.

Friday, December 20 - only one game was on tap for today, the conference opener between Furman & Mercer, the only conference game of the week.
Furman at Mercer Furman's Jordan Lyons scored 25 points and hit a layup with 17 seconds left in the game to carry Furman past the Bears, 64-62 on Friday night in the SoCon opener for both teams. The Bear's Maciej Bender hit 19 points, and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Jeff Gary added 13 points, while Ross Cummings scored 12.

Saturday, December 21, 2018 - Another good night for the SoCon, as it picked up a 4-2 record in OOC play.
Chattanooga at UNC Asheville The Mocs' Matt Ryan put up six points in the final 20 seconds the allowed Chattanooga to escape with a 68-64 victory over UNC Asheville. Ryan hit 7 of 9 from the line and finished with a team-high 15 points for Chattanooga, adding a half-dozen rebounds and three assists. Ramon Vila and Maurice Commander each added 11 points.
Western Carolina at Tennessee Tech Western's playmaker Mason Faulkner scored 16 points and 10 rebounds for the double/double and let 3 other Catamounts to double figure scoring in an impressive 89-76 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday. Matt Halvorsen added 15 points for Western Carolina (8-3), including a 3-pointer 48 seconds into the game for a lead the Catamounts never lost. Kameron Gibson added 13 points. Carlos Dotson scored 11. Matt Halvorsen added 15 points for the Cats as Kameron Gibson added 13 points and Carlos Dotson scored 11. Western Carolina totaled 46 points in the first half, a season-high for the team.
Samford at Georgetown Georgetown's Omer Yurtseven put up career highs with 32 points and 17 rebounds as the Hoyas beat Samford 99-71 for their fifth straight win. Brandon Austin scored 26 points hitting five 3-pointers for Samford, who lost their third straight game. Josh Sharkey added 24 points and made seven assists.
VMI at Virginia Tech Tech's Hunter Cattoor came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points, leading the Hokies to a 64-55 victory over VMI on Saturday. Cattoor hit 4 of 8 from the floor, including two 3-pointers for the Hokies (9-3), who won their third straight game despite shooting a season-low 34% (21 of 61). Isaiah Wilkins, who also came off the bench, added 13 points for Virginia Tech, which extended its home-court nonconference winning streak to 32 consecutive games.
Cleveland State at ETSU East Tennessee State rolled to their fourth straight win, 80-55 over Cleveland State. ETSU raced out to a 42-29 lead in the first half, then held off Cleveland State in the second half. Algevon Eichelberger went 10 of 17 from the floor for 23 points with 13 rebounds for Cleveland State which lost their fifth straight game.
Northern Kentucky at UNCG The Spartans' Angelo Allegri put up 12 points while Kyrin Galloway added 10 as UNCG beat Northern Kentucky 67-50 on Saturday. The Spartans have won seven of their last eight games. The Spartans led 34-25 at the half and emerged from the break to take control with a 14-0 run. Allegri made a 3-pointer, a layup and jump shot in succession to give the Spartans control for good.

Sunday, Dec 22, 2019 - Not a great day for the SoCon, as it went 1-2 on the day.
Wofford at Kennesaw State Wofford's one-two puch delivered on Sunday as Storm Murphy scored 24 points and Nathan Hoover put up 23 as the Terriers defeated Kennesaw State 83-70. Hoover made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points in the second half as the Terriers rallied. He and Murphy combined to make 10 of 10 free throws. Hoover also added a career-high nine rebounds
The Citadel at NC State State's Markell Johnson had a triple-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Wolfpack past the Citadel 83-63. The Wolfpack led by as many as 23 points in the second half and outscored the Bulldogs 42-18 in the paint. Kaiden Rice scored 19 points to lead The Citadel (6-6), whose three-game winning streak ended. Kaelon Harris added 13 points and Alex Reed had 10 points for the Bulldogs.
Florida Atlantic at Mercer FAU's Jailyn Ingram posted a season-high 21 points for the Owls, as the beat Mercer 65-50 on Sunday night. Cornelius Taylor had 15 points for Florida Atlantic, which won its fourth consecutive game. Ethan Stair had 15 points for the Bears (5-8).
