is this due in part to the move up to FBS? I'd say it due to declining enrollment. Obviously the move up, didn't create new interest in students picking CCU over other SC schools. However, the increased athletic budget has got to be a strain on a school with deficit budget.

In addition, CCU has the worst football home game attendance of any SunBelt member and maybe of all Group of 5 members. I've watched some of their games and the stadium is rarely half full. Also, there is very little interest in CCU football in the Myrtle Beach area from corporate sponsors and the general population. In South Carolina, there are the Tigers and the Gamecocks.
