As soon as the pairings and locations for the CFP semifinal games was announced on Sunday, Dec. 8, our youngest son in Arizona called and asked if me and his Mother (still current wife) wanted to come out for Christmas and to see Clemson play Ohio State. I told him that sounded like a good plan, especially since it had been a little over a year since we had been out there and since I had never attended a bowl game in person. Well, we did... Flew out from Charlotte on Dec. 23 and flew back on Dec. 30. Had a ball ! Great game. Wore all my Clemson gear (which consisted of one ball cap and a 2016 championship jacket which my son had given me) + I bought a really nice shirt (orange w/white tiger paw) at Academy Sports & Outdoors in Columbia. Ohio State had a much better team than I had given them credit for. If you saw the game, you know they had Clemson on the ropes for most of first half, but Clemson's defense did what they had to do when they HAD TO DO IT... Stopped them 3 times in red zone and made OSU settle for 3 points. Observation: Many Ohio State fans have potty-mouths. LSU is great but I do not believe they will blow out Clemson. I look for another great game. They will not run roughshod over the Upstate Tigers like they did the Sooners. (The Big-12 Conference brand was pretty much an embarrassment during this bowl season with the only W coming from Texas.) Bowl Game - checked off the Bucket List...

The direction postseason bowl games are currently going, Columbia or maybe even Camden, SC will be hosting one in a few years and you will not have to travel as far. There were some awful bowl games over the past couple weeks and very few people were willing to buy a ticket.
