The WCU Athletics Master Plan is a $120 million project to be completed over probably 10 years. The first phase ($50 to $60 million) includes major upgrades to the football stadium, a new field house, a new women's soccer/track & field locker/training/offices facility and some minor upgrades to other existing facilities. If our new AD is as good as advertised as a fund raiser and Dr. Brown remains committed, we could see these facilities within five years

This is good and bad. With rosters limited to 35 kids what are schools going to do when they bring in 20+ kids next year? Even the big schools are going to struggle with this. They will have to increase roster sizes to start with then address the scholarship issue. If i was coach id start picking off some seniors from bigger schools. They arent changing the graduate transfer rule so you would think you could get some kids. Or hell if im a larger school id be picking off the studs at smaller schools. Also heard that football is getting new facilities? That is a %$#@*&^ JOKE. d1baseball.com/stories/ncaa-clear-in-wanting-relief-for-spring-athletes/

As in Western Carolina football? I heard from one of my WCU buddies that they were getting new facilities but not sure what that means i just know that it is BS if they get any type additions and i mean any. Nothing personal against Football but just how about upgrading who needs it more. I know good football equals more money for all other teams but its nearly impossible to win at WCU. Baseball facilities are so far out of date it is not funny it is embarrassing An article is in the new WCU magazine talking about the new improvements on upgrading various sports facilities at WCU. It also shows some pictures of the new proposed upgrades in Football.

This will be great opportunity for the track and field teams especially with the women's team as two of the best athletes were seniors who would've graduated this year. Now u get them back with the girl that signed last year if the coaches can get some of the top 100 girls who are still unsigned and don't have any offers yet then u could see the track programs get back to winning and probably getting a conference championship again next year, but it sucks for the seniors on the basketball team who were having a great year cut short. It would've been nice to see how far they could have gone in either the CBI or CIT tournaments had they offered to play in one of them.
