I think most every one could see this coming when they announced her firing. What has she got to lose, this bad publicity probably means she will not have another head coaching position.

I'm sure she's hoping that the school will settle to make it go away. The allegations are out there and they won't change. Her reputation can only be repaired by performance, not a court verdict. A trial won't make this any better for her other than a POTENTIALLY larger (or smaller) award.

Well somebody screwed up on this one. Not saying she should have been hired and not saying she should have been fired. However, she should not have been announced or allowed to work, until she was approved by the board, which is what happens in most cases, I believe.
The announcement of her hiring, and allowing her to start work without board approval can only be traced back to the man in charge of the athletic department at the time. Not sure she has a case, because until approved by the board, she was never legally hired by WCU, again this goes back to the AD.

I know it will never get so far as to reach a courtroom but it would be entertaining to read the deposition of those former players at App State. In the end the Board of Governors will settle with her and there will be non-disclosure agreements so no one will know.
She won't get the amount she's dreaming of and will be shocked how much the lawyer will walk away with.

As I’ve been researching though, it seems most coaches will start working before a BOT approves the contract. Most of the time they are working off a “terms sheet agreement” as I’ve been told and that’s probably what she was doing. I can’t confirm that but my research of other schools and people in the know of contracts at the state athletics level have said that.

Glad I can see him in the rear-view mirror... I considered Randy Eaton a smoke-blower extraordinaire but was really pretty neutral until he pulled the 5-year stunt with Coach Speir. That instantly moved him over into the Idiot Corner, along with Chip Smith.
