So if i read this right Western does not want to play? I'm sure Speir does not want to play, no games, no losses, but another years pay. It is just delaying the inevitable, Speir will never complete the NEW contract he is now under, even if they do not play this season. Western will have to bite the bullet at some point and buy out his contract.

The majority of our coaches have less than two seasons experience in Cullowhee - and I know there is talent and experience with some of the newest hires. Andy McCollum could be a game changer - and could actually be a head coach at some point in the future. Folks I know here in ATL who know Andy and his work at Georgia Tech say he could be one of the best hires we've ever had between his defensive mind and his recruiting skills.

It's amazing how WCU always has this talent in coaching and players that are never realized. Folks, maybe some of those same folks in Atlanta, with little or no actual knowledge of coaching and game day perpetration make comments that give WCU fans hope for the future, just to have these hopes dashed against reality once the season starts. It's gotten real old, I have zero expectations for Catamount football, so any success that does happen will be a pleasant surprise, rather than gut wrenching disappointment as in the past 30+ years.

Depends on who is in the room representing us. Is it the AD, and/or our SoCon represntative and/or Chancellors. I would hope it's the Chancellors. The total impact is bigger than football. I would certainly hope they ask for player input.

Whatever... I said "The jury is out." Then I related about ONE coach with experience at not only GA Tech, but Baylor, NCSU, UT, MTSU and recruiting for the Tennessee Titans. Yes - I think we will benefit from having McCollum on the team. As far as number of wins this year, I won't predict and didn't participate in the poll on another page.

Western Kentucky and Chattanooga postponed their game scheduled for Thursday as well. No new date set, but they hope to play the game this season.
