El Cid has 4 fall games and I think a few other Socon schools will play at least 2 fall games. It looks like WCU if they play fall ball will not start till November. Do you think the Socon schools that play fall ball or more OOC games in the fall will have better success in the spring when conference games start?

So a questions: we can't play any SoCon teams in the fall? That's correct, only out of conference games can be played in the fall. Conference games will be in the spring.

I personally would love to see us schedule 3 or 4 out of conference games in November/December to prepare for the spring conference season

While I’d love to see football in 2020, there’s risk of injuries and the players will only have a couple months rest before the spring season starts (depending on when the official start is)

It is badly needed. As for EKU I see no reason to play that game. No money involved.

I agree with 07. If we could get some money games (even if just more G5 opponents) it might be worthwhile for the financial side. I don’t see a ton of positives from the athlete’s side if we practice for several months, play a couple of meaningless games, then take a big break before playing meaningful games sometime in the Spring.
Playing a home game by any FCS team seems like a losing proposition to me. I know the die-hard fans would want it, but the cost to put on a home game with probably little to no fans when finances are completely strained doesn’t sound like a wise option.

I'm sorry, but extended practice time doesn't do nearly as much for improvement than does playing actual games. We saw that first hand against Mercer last season.
The speed of practice, doesn't compare to the speed of games. Plus you are playing against unfamiliar players and adjustments have to be made in game, vs playing against teammates that you know their tendencies and their game plan.
Getting in 3 or 4 games that don't have as much "meaning" or playoff implications would be great development for the team, if they could be played 6-8 weeks prior to the beginning of the conference season. 6-8 weeks gives the team time to work on shortcomings, get healthy, and have your first and second teams established

4 games.... maybe that would be a difference. I think the SoCon limited this to no more than 3, and it looks like we will possibly play 2. I totally get practicing not being equal to game experience, I just personally don’t think playing 2 games a couple of months from now and then not playing again for a few more months will make a huge difference.
We’ll see. If we do play maybe we all get real excited about one of the QBs, or improved line play, or (I am hoping against hope) some improvements on D. And playing certainly won’t hurt the team (unless somebody gets hurt).

I don’t see how playing a lower level FBS team In Liberty and having them Mop the floor with us helps anyone. I know they are paying but we used to beat Liberty like a drum and now they have passed us too. Also EKU is coming off a 7-4 season and they are playing several games between now and November too so they will be in mid season form. They will also thump us badly also and we will have to listen to Coach Speir say in the post game news conference say, we got beat by a good football team tonight but we made too many mental mistakes and the cats beat the cats. Then he will say that we have to get back to the fundamentals and simplify things so our players can play fast. It can’t help recruiting to play 2 November games and get creamed.

Not sure how we beat them like a drum? I think that one time we did have a lop sided win in Cullowhee, but other than that, they were pretty competitive, of course we have lost two straight against Liberty. With the wads of money Liberty has for athletics, they long ago pass almost everyone in the FCS by, so that's not a disgrace for WCU. Sometimes I think you need your very own personal "fact checker".
