Let’s hope the school gets it under control. The leadership needs to act quickly and decisively. There is no reason to believe that the leadership will not get it under control. I know they can’t share specifics but they can say that these people will not cause any more problems. This stuff about, trust me, we are dealing with it does not work. There are ways to tell people that those folks are not around anymore which I hope they are not. People these days think they can get away with making racist comments. An example ought to be made of these folks.

I don’t think any of these guys are going anywhere. The school handled it expelled the students and legally cannot go into detail about anything else. You know there are lawyers sitting back licking their chops waiting on the school to make a mistake in handling this.

the expelled students broke the code of conduct, so i dont think they have a legit legal case against the school. some lawyer may think otherwise, but the school did the right thing

It seems as if Ronald Kent Jr and Christian Harris have had a recent change of awareness. The comment saying "If racist's stay, then I gotta go" implies that before these videos were posted they were perfectly fine with staying at WCU. This leads the average reader to believe they had no idea that there are some students among the 11,000+ enrolled that have racist views. Surely this can't be true? I'd say that whatever institution they leave WCU for, that institution will have at least a few students enrolled with racist views. It is a sad reality. Why let the bone headed comments of a few change your mission and your plan? If they do, then guess what? THEY WIN, not you. They drove you away from your commitment to an education and to play football at WCU. Think about this. Do the comments of a handful of students really represent what you know about the vast majority of students, professors, staff, and coaches at WCU? If so, then why? Was it the final straw that broke the camels back situation? Was it that you've heard comments such as this consistently since your arrival as a student athlete at WCU and now, you finally are fed up? Well, if the latter, then why wait until now to make a statement? Did you make attempts at telling your coaches and staff that you've been a victim of such vitriol hate at WCU before this situation? If so, did you not receive any support? Does the fact that these students have now been expelled offer enough action to change your mind about leaving WCU? I ask these questions because I wonder if the sentiments expressed by players since this horrible incident occurred were a reaction to this particular incident or a reaction to their overall experience at WCU. If the latter, then that would be a truly sad thing to hear about because most outsiders not involved as a student or staff of WCU have not heard of any systemic problems at WCU. Yes, I'm sure as a minority walking around campus, especially one like WCU's, minority students have to face challenges that white students simply don't understand. Odd looks, rude comments, assumptions made about you when walking into local businesses, turning heads with a gaze because you are the only non-white in the room or building. Then, comments such as what was posted on videos on social media bring every instance such as what I mentioned (and more) back to the front of your mind. I'm sure it is very difficult.
Looking at the big picture, I think it would be a terrible trend for student athletes to gravitate to HBCU schools across the U.S. simply because they feel like they would be subject to less exposure to racist behavior. It seems that would go counter opposite to the progress of integration traditionally white/non-minority institutions have had over the past 40+ years. Don't let these bone heads push you away. Know that you are loved and respected by the vast majority of your peers, coaches and teachers at WCU. If you feel otherwise, then I respect your decision to leave, however much it would pain many of us to see you go. It would be painful to see you go NOT because you are an athlete on a football or a basketball team, but because you are a valuable HUMAN BEING that many folks care for and want to see be successful in life.
