If you want to know just how far we are behind on a baseball stadium, just watch this..... Agree completely. At least turf the field, which I hear is coming and clean up the exterior with landscaping etc. Wouldn't be that hard to overhaul the dugout as well. Hard to compete when the $$$ are not being put back into facilities

Just like everything else athletics and athletic facilities wise at Western. It is NOT A PRIORITY for this administration or previous administrations. If you want to have smoke blown up your arse, just ask the Chancellor or anyone on the aBOT, they will tell you about their grand plan but it is a lie and there is no intention to do anything for athletics at Western. If talk would get it done, we would have the best facilities in the south. Come back in five years and there will ne NO new or improved facilities. There might be some maintenance stuff like new turf that they have to do but nothing of any consequence. I have been saying for 15 years, come back in 5 years and nothing will have changed and I have been correct for 15 years. No results just hot air and BS.

Nothing gets done in Cullowhee, except talk. It's truly sad that Chancellor John Bardo, widely believed to be totally against athletics, provided the one infusion of funds for new facilities to be built (softball stadium, track/tennis/soccer complex, west side stands for the football stadium) since the Ramsey Center was built (which was built mostly with state funds, very similar to the way UNC-A built N.C. Center for Health & Wellness, which includes the Kimbell Arena). We only gotten lip service from the AD and chancellors since that time.

I totally agree, JSU has an unbelievable facility there, and you can see why a potential recruit would certainly be much more impressed with the facilities at JSU over our facilities at WCU.
I have much time on my hands, so I looked up the JSU win loss record at JSU verses the WCU records since 2001-2020 and found the following results/ JSU 318 wins and 217 losses/a winning percentage of 59.49%/ WCU 298 wins and 225 losses/ a winning percentage of 56.98%J Jacksonville State has in the last 20 years a 2.51% better winning percentage over WCU.
If we really got serious about doing some much needed improvements to our facilities, I wonder if things would turn around or stay the same, as "INQUIRING MINDS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW"
GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is an arms race but the administration needs to pump some funds into the non revenue sports facilities, especially baseball before no one wants to come here

AS our facilities get older, and more out of date, you'll see less & less high-level recruits coming to WCU, especially in baseball and football.
