final game #3 Game 3 was a great win. You learn a lot more about yourself and your team in a game like this than you do is a 23-1 laugher or a 15-5 rout. We showed a lot of character to come back and tie the game in the 8th and walkoff in the 9th. Pitching gave up no hits from the 4th inning on. And the offense was able to get back into the game from a 3-0 deficit. Was wishing we had bottled some of those runs from Friday....  |

Really good weekend. The pitching effort was encouraging. However, we have no gauge to measure Towson State. They are almost always near the cellar in the Colonial Athletic Association - a strong baseball conference.
The next couple of weeks will be critical to set the tone for our season.
In 2019, we started 3-0 at home the first weekend, but we were a mediocre 5-5 in the next 10 games and finished the season
a pathetic 20-33.
In 2020, we started 4-0 at home the first weekend but were only 4-8 after that before finishing the Covid abbreviated season 8-8.
We have some tough games coming up... UNC-A one game; UNC-W 3 games; Wake Forest one game; and UNC-C 3 games. Seven of those 8 games are on the road. We will know a lot more about this team after these 8 games.
