What you are seeing now is terrible coaching by Coach Mo. The kid on the mound has the bases loaded with no one warning up in the bullpen. Should have someone warming up at the beginning of the inning in a close ballgame especially when the starting pitcher has had limited innings pitched. The starting picture is only throwing fast balls & circle changes. Has very little movement on all his pitches. If I wanted to lose today, I would have pitched the same pitchers Bobby pitched today.

Seems like Bob overthinks No, the Midweek games do not mean very much to Coach Mo. If you noticed, most of the pitchers thrown today were Freshman with limited innings pitched. Hitting was very good but our defense was not very good. The Cats first string catcher should have been behind the plate. Nanny should have been at 1st base. I was a Pitcher for the Catamounts & these kids do not need 4 days rest between starts.

FINAL - #3 Tennessee 14 - Western 12 Three Cats posted four-hit games including Pascanel Ferreras (4-5, HR, 2B), Justice Bigbie (4-6), and Will Prater (4-5, 2B) to lead WCU in a slugfest with the third-ranked Vols.

Regardless of the outcome, we held our own with some 2nd and 3rd string guys that got some playing time.

Why do you think Tennessee pitched so many both games? The starter yesterday for UT was supposed to be a weekend pitcher but has struggled some this spring. He had a great fall. This is where they get their experience. Same with catchers and other position players. UT's weekday pitchers should be better than our's and they were not. Cats held their own against #3. Not everything has to be negative. Cats look GOOD!

Not everything has to be negative. Cats look GOOD! Well young man, you just confirmed what I said in my posts. Coach Mo uses these games to evaluate pitchers that will not see action on the weekend. If you think the pitching was great, giving up 14 runs in a game is not good pitching. It was the hitters that kept WCU in the game. Coach Mo’s evaluation of pitchers should have been done during preseason workouts & inter squad games. If you noticed the UT Coach did not put up one second with any of the pitchers when they were not getting the job done. He also threw upperclassman in the game & not a bunch of Freshmen like Coach Mo did. Therefore, I will state again, if you intend to beat a team that is ranked in the Top five in the Nation , you do not pitch Freshmen unless they are dang good. I saw no pitcher that had command of their pitches nor could throw more than two pitches. I saw a bunch of throwers & not pitchers that could consistently throw to spots effectively. Last night the sticks tried to win the game despite the pitcher selections by Bobby. When you get to this level of baseball, not everyone gets to play. Not everyone gets trophies for being on the team. A lot of this is because Coach Mo does not have a great deal of pitching depth. This will be the Achilles Heel that will limit how far this team can go this season. I also will say, none of the pitchers I saw last night will be a weekend pitcher this season.
