This is just my second post on this forum but some thoughts need sharing. Football transfers are a necessary part of the process if we are to ever get out of the losing rut we have endured for far too long. Loyalty to a coach or coaching staff versus the university who provided the player an opportunity to compete/play football is immature. Better to be on your way with best of luck to you than continue life as a Catamount football player that may not be happy as a part of the new program and direction we have undertaken.

Welcome to the board, excellent post. You make a very good point. If a student-athlete does not want to be in Cullowhee, because his/her coach departed, the team is better off without an unhappy player. Unhappy for whatever reason, they are not going to give 100% effort, so while we may not want to see a good player leave, ultimately, the program is better off without a dissatisfied player.

I inferred from Coach Bell's remarks at his announcement, that he expects 100%, and if you aren't giving it, you may hear some honest words from him that you don't like. But he will be honest.

I don't see these departures as a loss. I see them as opportunity to fill the roster with new faces who are buying into Coach Bell's program.
