It is sad that Stribling is leaving. He had a lot of talent but the previous staff would not play him. If I were a receiver, I would be very excited by about the new high powered offense that is coming. We ran the spread but only in name because of the bad ultra-conservative play calling. Stribling should have been a starter. No rhyme or reason how the previous staff determined the starters in my opinion. This is a sad loss for us and the young man.

As these kids see their teammates going into the portal and getting offers, we will see more and more of this. This just goes to show you that we have talented players but the prior staff did not know how to coach them, game plan, or develop players. Look at the offers these kids are getting and compare that to our record and it all points to poor coaching. I think the previous staff were fine people but they are not good football coaches. As the saying goes, you are what your record says you are.

I don't think any scholarship opening on the roster is going to be a loss (but may be a shame to see it happen) for the team because: 1) Either they don't want to be here or for some unknown reason are not wanted -- could be grades, work ethic, attitude, capability, past regime loyalty, etc. 3) Coach Bell is batting 1.000 so far in recruiting so I don't expect he is too worried about finding great players to come to #TheWest to fill open roster positions. Coach Bell has set the bar high. We all have said from the beginning that we expect some turnover. Well, here it is... even if you are on the roster, you have to work hard to be the best because there is always someone who will want your job and work hard to get your job -- winning football programs work this way -- tough but winning culture accepts only those that want to win and will work hard to win and have the abilities to win. I think some of the recruiting (some, not all) in the past seems like it was done without a bunch of research or thought.I disagree in the case of Stribling. Some of these losses are big losses and it is not the kids fault. Coach Bell has not won a single game yet. All the talk and the platitudes are great, but we do not know what we have until they line up against EKU in September. Just because you say that we will immediately start to win and that Coach Bell will replace these players with better players does not make it true. I am glad we made a change, and I like all the positive words and fanfare around this hire but I have been a fan for over 40 years and until I see a conference championship, I am from Missouri. I need to see it happen. Show me!!!

Think he was moved to safety in the spring. Guess that might have something to do with it

Most of the transfers never play a down again Fact Most of these kids are getting offers at other FCS and FBS schools. I think that is why we are seeing more of these kids entering the portal.
