I was disappointed we did not win. I think we are improved on both sides. I was not mad about the game like in years past just disappointed because i know we should have won.

We had 501 yards of offense with mediocre execution. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen those kind of numbers. Things are looking up Our last 500-yard game was at VMI in 2019. During the Tyrie era we averaged about two 500-yard games a year.

I didn’t catch the whole game but is there a reason Robertson kicked the game tying field goal instead of McCollum?

Was at the ballgame last night. Must say the enthusiasm was good and the crowd loud and engaged. More students stuck around after half-time than seemed normal. Game was exciting to watch and I hope we can be that competitive in the Socon. Offense is really good. As said earlier we need to cut-down on penalties and turn-overs but I believe our staff will correct it. D is better than the Speir era, but still needs work. Over-all I was very pleased and look for a bright future from our Cats.

Robertson's our kickoff guy and they're listed as interchangeable on the depth chart. Guess they felt Robertson had a better shot at that distance

I didn’t catch the whole game but is there a reason Robertson kicked the game tying field goal instead of McCollum? I think I heard that Robertson had kicked a 51 yarder last year at EKU and they took a gamble with him. He has the potential but 56 yarders are hard for P5 caliber and even NFL veteran kickers. But we never gave up and the fact we had a shot at literally the last second of the game was refreshing and heartbreaking rather than expecting to lose. We first must learn to win, and when we do look out other teams. Lets be respectible against OU.

Jerry,
Is there a snipit or somewhere where I can listen to just Bell's postgame comments. I know I can go to CSN and fastforward all the way to the end but I as I was leaving the game last night (didn't stay for fireworks) I tried to listen on the road and as I got to about the Sonic area in Sylva the radio on 90.5 went static until about the McDonald's in Sylva and so I missed a huge portion of the interview.

Another costly factor is the fact the Cats had to call their first timeout of the second half to avoid another penalty for lining up in the neutral zone. One more play before the potential game-tying field goal could have made a difference.

I can’t believe all the complaints and arm chair coaching
Coach Bell had 20 days with These kids
That’s all
They ran for over 200 yds
501 total
They lost their offensive line coach !!!
Please stop it
Stop criticizing
They played great given transfers , lack of spring practice and other things that happened

Geez
You guys are incredible
Complaining about everything
Coach Bell had no spring
He inherited a poorly coached beat down team
He had 20 days before 1st game
He has many transfers new players
We saw a glimpse of what will be !!!!
501yds offense awesome
Defense only gave up 121 rushing yards
EKU had double that against us in spring
Offensive line coach died two weeks before game
Stop complaining
I saw a team fight and yes at times it was out of sorts
The interception near goal line was receiver running wrong route
Again 20 days THATS it before playing
Hang in there this is the best coach western has had since my coach Bob Waters
