Please keep the faith and don't give up on this team or the coaching staff....I think Coach Bell can pull it off...Please remember where this program was when he came in ( Rock Bottom )....We were the joke of the Southern Conference....I know 76 - 0 is embarrassing and my first reaction was I got mad but I don't think Oklahoma ran it up but yes they were looking to make a statement and any team on our level would have gotten the same beat down period...ESPN and other shows ripped them after the Tulane game so you could see this coming.....If my math is correct we got $8,553 dollars for every point they scored....Take the money we need it but I hope at some point we can get away from these type games....Looking at our season so far we had a great chance to beat Eastern Kentucky and maybe should have but we were competitive and I felt proud of our guys and coaches....Again take the money and put the Oklahoma game behind us and like Coach Bell said after the game we got live reps and learned from it and it made us a better team...After saying all of this the game this weekend Saturday 18th against Samford is HUGE...We must get this win.....

Agree! Please keep the faith and not worry about this money game loss. If anyone thought we were going to go out and be competitive with the top 5 teams in the country with 20 days of preseason practice and virtually all new players in positions I want whatever you are on!

No doubt that money games are a plus - up to a point. At some level the returns start to diminish, and clearly we passed that point last night. It would be great if we could keep those games in more of the mid-tier FBS, even if the payday isn’t as large. It’ll be testament to Coach Bell’s ability if he can frame this game as a motivator for the team and they can truly gain from all those “live reps”

If we could bridge the deficit gap in athletics with donations we wouldn’t “have” to play them……we may continue to play them for additional money stream but it would be nice to not have to rely on them.

Players tend to like them, but I bet the experience wore a little thin last night

I do not think Lincoln Riley intentionally ran up the score he is not that kind of guy. While they needed style points for rankings, OU took a knee before the half when they could have scored. He put in his 2nd and 3rd string against us in the 2nd half. They are one of the best teams in college football with some of the best athletes and they run Lincoln's version of the Mike Leach style Air Raid offense. It is not uncommon for Oklahoma to put 50+ and 60+ points on FBS or even P5 teams, its the nature of that offense. On the otherside as in last week, teams can also score a lot of points against them too, (ex: Tulane last week). When LR was the OC at ECU we put over 60 against Tulane and tbe magical 70 over an early Larry Fedora's UNC team. What I saw and heard from Coach Bell, we too put in i guess essentially our 3rd string QB to get some reps and experience, Lincke is out sick and did not travel. But he wanted the QB to play at the same fast up-tempo pace as if it was still a close game but as he is young and green he turned the ball over quite a few times and Oklahoma scored on a number of them, the idea if where not trying to run the score up but are playing football and we could not stop them.OC when’s to Ga State 4 years ago Bell mentioned postgame that when the game got out of hand he could have kept his starters in and slowed the tempo to stop their scoring but that was not his plan and he used that time to get his team some experience to use when we get back to FCS play. I don't look at Carlos as young and green -- he is in his 4th year of college football. The game last night was a tough place to try and judge a QB, even with him ending his 2 series with a fumble and a pick (3rd series was a run out the clock exercise), as the playing field was certainly not anywhere near level. Also I don't think we can compare Carlos and Wells performances last night as they both played against a different defense as OU had subs (even scout team I heard) in the 4th. What we have not seen is Carlos play on an even playing field -- Spier should have played him in the spring but for some reason he simply did not make any subs at QB despite the fact we struggled with accuracy and could not get first downs. In my opinion, Carlos is a better QB than Glover -- just have not been able to see how much better because he has not had the opportunity to show us... yet. I agree that Carlos can be very good in this offense once he gets some more practice time and game experience. I don’t agree that he is better than Glover. Glover is the number 2 QB at Cal on the depth chart. I think Glover was a victim of terrible play calling by the previous coaching staff and poor o-line play. Once our OC left for Ga State 4 years ago, we were lost on offense with Coach Holt as our OC. We really did not have an offense once he left. I don’t think it would have mattered who the QB was because the play calling and consistent O-line play was non-existent. In a good offense with a good o-line, Glover could be a very good QB for Western or any other FCS team. None of our woes were player related before Coach Bell got here. The O-line withe the same players is already much improved.

What was the payout for game at OU? $625,000 or $650,000. Something like that Since the Sooners were paying that amount, I guess they decided to get their money's worth with the score. at $650k paid, then divided by 76 points, that's about $8,552 per point, of course the game was a sell out and they charged $57 ppv - I'd say the Sooners came out on top!!!
