$625,000 or $650,000. Something like that Since the Sooners were paying that amount, I guess they decided to get their money's worth with the score. at $650k paid, then divided by 76 points, that's about $8,552 per point, of course the game was a sell out and they charged $57 ppv - I'd say the Sooners came out on top!!! With roughly 83k in attendance, they sold more coca colas in the first half than they paid us.

So thoughts on if it was worth it? Understand what it does financially.

No doubt that money games are a plus - up to a point. At some level the returns start to diminish, and clearly we passed that point last night. It would be great if we could keep those games in more of the mid-tier FBS, even if the payday isn’t as large. It’ll be testament to Coach Bell’s ability if he can frame this game as a motivator for the team and they can truly gain from all those “live reps” Looks like in the coming years we will be doing that for the most part. Look at 2022, 2024 and 2025 (2023 and 2031 though ouch!!!) but 2031 may never happen with Georgia. Most of the FBS schools on the schedule 2022 we have Georgia Tech, 2024 NC State, and 2025 Wake Forest. These are teams that are ripe for an upset and a payday, esp Georgia Tech. fbschedules.com/ncaa/western-carolina/

Interesting that Bell was offered the chance to call it quits at halftime.

Interesting that Bell was offered the chance to call it quits at halftime. I thought that was an odd statement by an official. I did not know that college football had a mercy rule. Lol. I bet if Coach Bell took them up on it, there would have been some very upset Sooner fans. I like Coaches attitude about getting live reps with better players. These games do make us better and helps us to learn how to play faster. It can only help us once we get into conference and it exposes problems that we would not see against a VMI or Furman. It will help us against Samford. The players will feel like Samford is moving in slow motion compared to Oklahoma.

Said they were gonna blame it on the lights. That would've been really lame. Better to lose big
