I could not find a way to link the video but go to Western's athletic page and check out Coach Bell's post game comments

Went to ballgame then ended up leaving and watching the game at home. I feel we are much improved and Coach Bell has us very close to being on the good side of these close games. Our defense is much better, especially against the run, than it was in the spring. Our offense is playing with purpose and Kaden is a much better play caller than the previous OC. The overall attitude of the team is far superior than before. We are close Cat fans, lets show some patience, get behind these coaches, and cheer the Cats to victory. /font]

Do like what we all are seeing. Much improved.
Defense giving up way to many points.
In my opinion the game turned in fourth 9:30ish after the int. Wells just had the big run into the red zone for a first down and we got greedy passing on the next play and had the interception. Why not run the ball a play or two, let the clock run abit and go from there?

Left at halftime for a dinner reservation. I hate that we missed the most exciting part of the game. Can't wait for the rest of the season. G-W isn't going to be a picnic - we will have to work to win that one as well.

I love the team's fight and how they battle to the end...Coach Bell will make adjustments to help them grow and they will continue to learn and move forward....We will get our first win this weekend at Gardner-Webb....After saying all of that I would like to ask one thing....Please eliminate the turnovers and the (11) penalties they aren't going to help us win....We had the ball 1st and goal at the Samford 2 yard line and we have a false start(5 yds)....Ball moved to the 7 yard line and we end up with only a field goal...For us to continue to be competitive we have to clean up the mental errors and then we will break thru with a win.....

All I know is in the spring we lost 55-27 and 5 months later we lose 42-37. So we lose by 28 with the last coaches and we hire a new coach and we only lose by 5. Same scenario for EKU. Coach Bell has been here a little more than 3 months and the product on the field is much better. We are close. The last regime could recruit, but they could not coach the players up and the offensive play calling was sub-par at best. Coach Bell is a winner and he is an actual head coach. We are in good hands. For the sake of these kids, I wish we would win some games, but the head man has only been here for 3 months and he is already making a big difference.

Do you think the kids are getting down with the losses in games 1 and 3? Games we could have won. I don't know where the kids heads are at right now

Do you think the kids are getting down with the losses in games 1 and 3? Games we could have won. I don't know where the kids heads are at right now I do not think so...I think they realize how close they are and that they could have won. If anything. they are gaining confidence and may be frustrated at themselves giving the game away knowing they could have won the game 1 and game 3. Bell said it in the post-game interview and I thought it before he said it. the team is competitive and fight but in changing the culture you go from losing almost every game big (previous staff in the spring), then you lose close (heartbreakers), then you win close before you win big. We are at the lose close stage knocking on the door to winning close stage. Once we win close and it become contagious we will win big. Of course this is a saying and when we reach the win big stage it don't mean we will never lose or eek out close games but means winning is expected and we can often dominate opponents. I am actually amazed on how fast we go from lose big to lose close. When Speir took over from Wagner it took midway to the 2nd season before we were starting to lose close, and the 3rd season to start winning close, and looking back on it, it was not because of Speir it was because of Troy Mitchell and Brad Glenn, without Glenn, Speir was unsuccessful.
