I sure hope it is a sell out. With family weekend, it should be a very good crowd.

i heard it had a long way to go before a sellout Last check I did on the tickets site, there were a ton of seats left. Maybe that will all change in the next few days, but it is not looking good. Watched the game against EKU finally after being out on vacation and the stadium looked a bit bare from most of the tv shots. Then again, most of the tv shots were of the west side, but usually if the west side has a ton of seats empty, so does the east. Yes, the crowd was "good" by our SOCON peer standards, but it didn't look like anything to brag about. I'm not sure what is going on, maybe there are more fans less hopeful and charged about the direction of the program than most of us that talk on this board. (?) As they say, winning fills seats (unless you are Wofford or Furman). So, let's see where this thing goes. If we win Saturday, then maybe seats start to fill up. If we lose, I'd expect more of the same crowd wise. Weather may play another role Saturday too. Wishy washy fans, don't want to sit in a storm or even a rain shower especially when the game is on tv. They'll sit at home, at a brew pub down the street, stay dry and watch it on tv. I know my crew is already chirping about "not wanting to spend the afternoon sitting in the rain". Hoping Saturday won't be a wash out weather wise.
Final thought on crowds. I was hoping that after the crazy Covid year of no live/in person/in stadium sports, folks would just be ready to come out and sit in a stadium again and watch a game, chances of winning/losing be darned. Guess not.

I think that some folks are still nervous about being in crowds with the Covid variants out there, some people not being vaccinated, etc. That probably will affect the crowds. Any other year on family weekend, we should have 11,500 to 12,500. For the first game against EKU someone posted that the ticket office was expecting 12,000 to 12,500 which was off by nearly 3,000 seats. I know it is not an exact science, but the school should not be making predictions like that when they really have no idea. If there are still a lot of seats available today, I would expect that we will have about 9;500 and that includes season ticket numbers which are counted whether people attend or not.

Because of the weather report, Kay and I will not be able to go, but this old Catamount will be watching my Catamounts and pulling for them to win this very important game.
If we win this game, we would be 1 and 0 in the SoCon, and that would be simply AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Prediction: WCU 44, SAMFORD 38:
GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
