VMI Furman ETSU Gardner-Webb Bonus games: William & Mary NC A&T i have noticed that every week you pick whoever we are playing to beat us. Do you not see improvement and see that this staff has already vastly improved the teams play? It is only a matter of time. The EKU and Samford games could have gone either way. You have been correct, but you could have just as easily been incorrect on those 2 picks. I understand it is a contest but there is something to be said for picking your school. In my opinion, we have a real shot to get our first win this season. Every game has been an improvement.

I pick to win. Western may have major issues in the trenches especially being injured / banged up. Improving but not winning. Must keep defense off field. Run the ball, stop the run and score in the Red Zone.
As I’ve stated before. Western should get out of RPO.
1. Brad Glenn set records as Offensive Coordinator but look at cumulative results. Wins, Losses, Playoffs,
2. We are in Recruiting Wars with ALL other schools running the Trendy RPO.
3. Coach Waters was running a totally different offense than most schools. He was thinking outside of the box. Unconventional. West Coast Style.
4. Change the Offense to Ball Control. Run the Clock. Keep pressure off Defense.
5. Grab the talented but overlooked QBs, TE’s, FB’s, Bruising RB’s , Possession Receivers that can run routes (slants / outs)
6. I-Formation, Wing-T, Triple Option, Split setback whatever
7. Plenty of High School Teams in NC, S.C. and GA runs ball control. The transition wouldn’t be that hard.
8. Make the opponent “work” to prepare to play Western.
OR
Stay the Course. Hope to out recruit other RPO schools. Hope for better retention. Hope for more WINS not Moral Victories.
* D2 transfers are fine but nothing to get overly excited about when you’re playing FCS. . The QB is good but he’s 1 and done. The defense is losing 7 off depth chart?? Guessing off memory.
Cullowhee is different. We must take a different approach.
Not picking Western to win is reality.

We probably have 2 of the best TE’s in the SOCON and we’re running RPO / Spread. Not a TE friendly Offense.

We probably have 2 of the best TE’s in the SOCON and we’re running RPO / Spread. Not a TE friendly Offense. This is not the same offense by any stretch of the imagination that the last coaches ran. We are now actually throwing the ball down the field. I think coach is using the talent he has and adjusting his offense to that. In my opinion, we need to play Makai and Tyree more to improve our run game. Benjamin goes down the first time he is hit and he averages less than 3 yards per carry. That is not productive. I know that Makai and Tyree would gain more yards because they are bigger and don’t go down when arm tackled. I don’t know why the running back coach and the OC do not see this. We need to improve our run game efficiency which would increase our chances to win. We are basically playing 2 D2 backs….

Mikai Stanley: I was very impressed with the running back from Wilmington, NC Mikai Stanley. He is around 6'2" 235 pounds and ran the ball once against EKU on a fourth down and he picked up the first down. Just wondering if Mikai will be considered as a third option in our running game options: GO CATS BEAT GARDNER-WEBB My prediction for this week/ WCU 30,GWU 24 I went to both scrimmages this year and to my very untrained eye it looked to me like Makai Stanley and Tyree Nelson would gain more yards than Benjamin did. They were harder to bring down and you could not arm tackle them. Now with that said, I am not a coach but I think they both could help our run game. I am sure that there are other factors that I don’t know about that the coaches see that I don’t see. I hope for the sake of the team that we are playing our 2 best backs. I kinda figured Jones and particularly Benjamin were brought in because they knew the staff's system and that we'd see more of the others as they came along

We probably have 2 of the best TE’s in the SOCON and we’re running RPO / Spread. Not a TE friendly Offense. While, I understand why you are picking others because WCU has to prove itself before many here or outside of WCU would pick them when it comes to say Vegas or comparing it on what we have seen the past decades, so I certainly understand that and it makes sense. But I will say that I think that GWU is a much worse team than what we are. Even with them improved and Tre Lamb their coach, looking at the Georgia Southern game as the first game of the season doesn't worry me as Georgia Southern is not that great this year and what GWU almost did is typical of first games. I do think we get our first win this year over Gardner-Webb to me, as long as we play like we have been playing even against EKU and Samford, that will be enough to manhandle GWU. But my reason for responding is not the question the prediction, but are you sure we are still running an RPO? That was the previous staff's offense but what Kerwin seems to be running his his offense that is more pass heavy with elements of Spurrier's Run n Gun and fine tuned to what Bell has tweaked and less traditional RPO as with RPO there is a lot more running than what we do. Bell's offense is not has pass heavy as say Lincoln Riley's Air Raid at Oklahoma but its pretty pass heavy. So if he is running an RPO its likely due to the players he currently has which were recruited for RPO and he adjusted or its an RPO in name only but more like a Florida Gators style of offense, the only thing missing is time to really install the system and his players that are recruited more for his system.

Spread…RPO….Fun & Gun….Spurrier Ball 🏈 Slight Variations *Pretty much the all you see in College Football. Game after Game. Week after Week. 3-4 Defense Game After Game Defensive Coordinators are making slight adjustments. They know what’s coming. Make them teach assignment football days prior to Western. Discipline. Reading the option / counter / play action. Etc. Make them change to 4 down linemen. Limit their number of possessions on offense. Barbers 💈 make slight adjustments with Clipper Guards these days. Make them use scissors 😂😂😂
