Western Carolina women's tennis will host the 2021 WCU Fall Invite Oct. 2-3 at the Catamount Athletic Complex. The Catamounts will host Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian and Brenau in the two-day tournament. WCU played its first tournament of the fall last weekend, Sept. 25-26, at the Emily McCall Classic hosted by UNC Asheville. Rain Shortens Final Day of WCU Fall Classic. Cats sweep pair of singles matches before rain sets in. Western Carolina women's tennis was able to play a pair of singles matches before rain in the area washed out the remaining action the final day of the WCU Fall Classic. The Catamounts opened the morning of play sweeping the singles matches against Presbyterian. WCU avenged their doubles match-up Saturday as the Blue Hose took two of three. It was a hotly contested set of singles contests with four of the matches match's going to a tie breaker. Jacy Smith (6-3, 1-6, 10-5), Kata Foldeak (2-6, 6-4, 10-7), Anna Uljanov (6-2, 6-4), Miray Konar (6-2, 6-4) and Antonella Benavices (4-6, 6-0, 10-3) combined for the victories for the Catamounts.
