Lots of questions.....
With James Madison leaving the CAA and moving to the Sun Belt, the FCS is now in the domino effect. Will the CAA try to replace JMU? if so, where do they look? same place as before... at the SoCon. They are interested in Furman, Wofford, VMI, and The Citadel. Any chance any of those are interested in the CAA.
What about Chattanooga, are they interested in FBS, would that accept an invite from the CUSA?
Is the SoCon looking to pick up some CAA schools, it's best to be proactive than reactive...

I don't think any SoCon teams would be interested in moving to the CAA, however UTC could be another story. No doubt they are intersted in FBS, just not sure they have the $$$ to make a jump.

What about DII schools that would like to move to FCS? I can think of a few that are currently ranked and based in the southeast. Valdosta - #1, West Florida - #6, West Georgia - #9.

I think the CAA will/is making a big push for UNCG. Any thoughts, I hope they stay, I'd like to see UNCW & CoC added to the SoCon and a return to north/south divisions in basketball. I think this move would improve basketball for the SoCon.

I'd be surprised to see the CAA offer UNCG an invite without having football. Furman would be a much better addition. As a Big South Fan, I'm more looking at NC Central and Norfolk State to join BS. The SoCon could add a Kennesaw State potentially.

I am just asking because I don’t know for sure. It used to be that there was a home game attendance requirement to move to FBS. For many games it looks like Chatt does not get 2000 fans in the stands. There stadium is large enough but their fan support is dismal. I bet it has something to do with everyone in East Tennessee being a Vols fan. |
