Another good win. Pitching was better tonight. We also forced Houston to use a lot of pitchers. The Cats hung in there and were scrappy. We held a very good hitting team to less than their season average. I think the Cats might be starting to put things together. We have a chance to win the series now. I’ll ask again. “Another good win” ? 🤔. What are you smokin and where these wins you speak about? I love wcu but damn playing this awful schedule should be 16-5 maybe 15-6. Go look at Warren Nolan site and look at opponents and their records. Won’t even mention 1-8 vs UNCA last 9 games opps. They will figure it out. Got Mercer then probably Wofford and everyone else.

See that? The Houston coach didn't wait until his pitcher had walked the bases loaded and three or four runs were scored. The pitcher faced two Cats, struck out first, then walked second and was pulled. Moranda would have left him in until we were three runs behind. Coach Mo did a good job last night in the bottom of the 3rd. Give him credit. Our starter struggled bad in 2nd inning. Left the bases loaded with BB's. The UH run scored on a WP. In the 3rd, the starter walked the first batter and MO quickly brought in Corn... who pitched very, very well. His ejection was a crock. Home plate ump was bad. Both teams were griping about ball-strike calls all night. Houston as much as us.

The difference being, the pitchers didn't execute Friday. It didn't help we didn't field or hit very well either. Yesterday, the pitchers executed. Corn and Frank were superb. Tip your hats to both them!

Houston hit some rockets in the 6th. He is tired. Arm angle has dropped. D is strong behind him. But no D behind the fence. I would have never sent Mortenson out for 7th.

I would have never sent Mortenson out for 7th. Just more of Coach Mo's questionable decisions. Nor was his 8th inning decisions any better.

Can you imagine what's going to happen Tuesday at Tennessee? I can.
