Western Carolina men's and women's track & field competes for Southern Conference Championships this weekend as the Catamounts head to the Samford Track and Soccer Complex in Birmingham, Ala. The conference champion-crowning meet begins on Saturday morning at 9 am ET with the men's and women's 10,000-meter run. Saturday field event finals start at 11 a.m. ET and consist of the men's and women's hammer, men's and women's pole vault, men's and women's long jump, and men's and women's javelin. The majority of Saturday's track action consists of prelims which start at 2:30 p.m. ET with the men's and women's 1,500-meter run.

Pretty much the same results as the indoor T&F championship. Samford has established itself as the class of the SoCon in Track & Field. WCU is competitive as a team, but not going to win any championships in the near future. Reminds me of baseball.
