With the strength of schedule this year the ONLY chance to advance is to win the tournament and that should be the priority. The only impact midweek games have is on recruiting.
Given the weak conference, we need to schedule better non conference games to give us a chance at an at-large bid. Until that happens, you are essentially playing for the tournament every year in order to advance.
What is concerning is the inability to close the door in the last few innings. It seems to have been a problem all year. It would be interesting to use a midweek game as an opportunity to use an "opener" and see if flipping the script helps out at the end of games.

OK guys, this is a free board, and all opinions are welcome by design.
What is not welcome is personal attacks because of the opinions expressed, good or negative.
If you dislike what someone says, counter it with facts, not personal attacks.
Certainly all Catamount fans are welcome to post, regardless of their opinions. There is lots of opinions expressed on this board that I disagree with, but difference of opinions is what makes things interesting, if we all had the same opinions there would be no reason to have a fan board. Lets all try to be a little more respectful and tolerant of opinions. If you disagree with a post or person's opinion, fine, post a rebuttal. Just read your post before you hit that "create post" key, how would you feel if someone were writing that to you?
