In the top of 5th it's WCU 7-2.
This game and the Mercer wins shows what the Cats can do when their starting pitching is doing well and pitches for most of the game. Which has not happened enough this season.
When the relievers come it, anything can happen.

Wonder if he might start Zebby tomorrow I don’t know but I like it when they use Mathew’s as a long reliever. I like our chances tomorrow because Zebby has rested for over a week now. |

Wonder if he might start Zebby tomorrow I don’t know but I like it when they use Mathew’s as a long reliever. I like our chances tomorrow because Zebby has rested for over a week now. I like that to. However, we need to pitch our best pitcher against Wofford’s hitters. Really don’t think we have 2nd line pitchers that can hold off Wofford’s hitters long enough to keep from having to use Gabby as a reliever until the last couple of innings. I would start Gabby & hope he could pitch the entire game. We have 3 good pitchers & now one of them is injured. |

I agree with Jim68 our 2nd line pitchers are very suspect but I might consider a piece meal approach....Maybe break the game up by outs and try and use pitchers you hope can get you 3 outs and just move the game along and maybe in the 5th bring in Zebby (Z Man ) to close it out....We need to eat some innings up early in this game without alot of damage to get it to Zebby's show.....

You are absolutely correct in your thinking. However, I’m still afraid that Bob would leave a second line pitcher in to long before pulling him. Coach has a terrible history of letting the game get out of hand especially against a good hitting team like Wofford. Good pitching gives WCU a chance to beat Wofford but weak pitching will not get the job done. |
