I had to wonder if that steal attempt in the first was Mo’s idea? All I do know is that a picked off runner seconds before a homer takes a run off the board every time…..I hate to be “that guy” but……

I knew someone would accuse me of “Monday Morning QB”, but it drew my ire WHEN IT HAPPENED as I pushed a cart through Lidl and watched the proceedings on my phone. I told my wife then that we sure could’ve used that run. Yes double plays happen, and it feels as though we’ve hit a lot of solo shots this year, I guess it’s just a thing I have about steal attempts when we need base runners, have had a tendency to need “big” innings to save our bacon, and have typically hit well enough to not have to manufacture runs. Oh well. |

We dont hit that many HRs and while it was his 9th of year which is pretty good. However he is hitting just .274. If we dropped bombs hell no better not go and get thrown out trying to steal.
What always has gotten me fired up is when sac bunt in early innings🤬

If didnt run then might hit into dbl play? If we are talking about the stolen base attempt before Ketterman's home run then a double play was not in effect. The runner that got picked off was on second base not first. So double play wasn't an option. |

RobinsonDad is right. Prater walked and went to second on a WP. Got thrown out at 3rd.
I wasn't able to watch at that point, but a straight steal attempt of 3B is not smart at that point.
Was the ball dropped by the C and roll away a short distance? Did Prater think it was far enough that he could get to 3rd? If so, then I can't fault anyone for that. Prater is a heads-up player.
