I expect him to surface as an MLB scout for some team.

Seriously doubt that a few fans on a chatboard ran Bobby off. *Maybe he’s advancing in his career. Pro Scout? *Maybe he’s simply burned out *Maybe Alex gave him a nudge. 3-10 fans didn’t push him into retirement. I'm sure Coach Mo was not forced out. Just think about how many small improvements he's made with the stadium, year after year, over his tenure as head coach such as the new seating behind home plate, the brick walls down both sides of the field, dugout upgrades this season, and many more. He most likely finally realized that like many of us have been saying on this board, major facility upgrades are not coming, and that all the administrations, after administration, do is blow smoke up our asses. I'm sure he tired of those facility promises never coming into being. He's been handicapped by facilities for a long time.

You are spot-on with what BMO did to keep the program above water. He got little or no support from the athletics or university administration. WCU has fallen behind all but one other SoCon baseball program in facilities, budget, etc. If it wasn't for some selected supporters like the 1002 Club, we would be in worse shape.

Guy didn't get results so he didn't retire.

I agree. My convos with Alex make me feel he wants to win in everything and I like that mindset. For the longest time WCU was ok being bad or middle of the road. Alex knows Bell will not be here long after he wins like i expect to see soon and Alex is ok with that. Set the standard that coaches come here to win not retire. I think he was forced to retire. Why announce in the middle of the socon tournament…..

not saying it will happen but with Mo leaving we may see some like Pas or Ketty taking the transfer portal to somewhere else since Mo was the one to recruit them. There are repercussions for a coach "retiring" or being forced out. I hope not but it's not like we have much at WCU to keep or recruit players. Our facilities have been the worst in the SoCon since I was there with my boys. I agree Mo did everything he could being hamstrung with LITTLE to NO funding. The new homeplate and dugouts were ok but we all know that is FAR from what we need to have a respectable baseball facility. Did Mo make mistakes, yes, and we all do but with what he had to work with I think he did all he could. That's my personal opinion and that won't buy you nothing. I personally love and thank Mo for all he did and especially for my boys!! Good luck to coach on his future endeavors!!

You speak the truth. I've been around WCU baseball since the early 60s and I have watched the funding for baseball and attention to the facilities by the administration go flat. Private support from Lamar Hennon in the 90s and Larry Stanberry in the early 2000s made us competitive in those periods.
