I am proud of the way these kids battled all year. This was Grays first real year. You can’t count the year where what’s his name cratered the team before he left. I see much brighter days for our Cats. I don’t care if they win the SoCon next year. These young men are a class act and they represent our University with integrity. GO CATS!!!!

You don't care if they win the SoCon? I really hope the team does not feel the same way. You play to win not just to play

You don't care if they win the SoCon? I really hope the team does not feel the same way. You play to win not just to play I am just realistic. We have not been a top team in the SoCon for a while. It takes time to build a program the right way and Rome was not built in a day. Coach Gray has us heading in the right direction and we should win at least a few more next year than this year. Teams do not turn around on a dime. We might win the SoCon next year and we might not. Regardless, I will pull for the Purple and Gold win or lose. I believe that Coach and his staff are winners and will eventually bring a winning team to Cullowhee. I have no idea when we will win the SoCon, but I think we have the right man for the job. Also our players are all fine young men with high character and they represent Western with a lot of class.

I think back to a quote coach said after the loss to Furman in the tournament. Someone asked him when he expected to win at Western and he said every time i wake up. I think the same way about Western. I already expect the football team and men's basketball to win the Socon next year and if they don't I will be disappointed

I never understood why we accepted to play in this tournament. Even the winner of the whole thing is going to lose money. I'm sure this cost WCU a minimum of $35,000 to play. That money certainly could have gone to better use.

It gave the team a chance to play in March and an extra week of practice and something to build upon for next year. W lost but you can’t go into something like this thinking you are going to lose. I wis we had won, but we did not. On to next year and football season is next.

We don't have extra money laying around like some schools, that $27,000 plus expenses could have been used elsewhere. The Champions share is $25,000, so even if you win the whole tournament you still lose money.

Proves we had the toughest draw in the tournament. Cats played well in the first half and then Charlotte made adjustments in the second half.
