Western Carolina senior outfielder Brooklynn Brewington was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week as the league announced its weekly softball awards on Monday afternoon.
Brewington wins the award for the first time in her career and is the second Catamount to claim a weekly honor this year, joining sophomore Tessa Juett who was named the conference's pitcher of the week on Feb. 13.
Selections are made by the conference office from nominations submitted by the sports information or media relations personnel at each league institution.
